Our Mission:

Produce
Hope.

Through our honest approach to film-making, we cultivate a safe space for conversation and change — focusing on bringing mental health into the foreground of life, in a way that holds it up with honesty and compassion, and without stigma.

About us

Quiet Minds was formed in 2018 by Courtney Jensen (Director/Director of Photography) and Sam Caton (Writer).

Our forces were combined after a fellowship of not only wanting to create, but to change and alter the stigmas of those surrounding mental health // addiction. We know that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions and intention of our work.

Projects

‘breakfast’ // Short film

Breakfast tells the simple story of human connection. When a young woman walks into a small diner in the middle of the night in the dead of winter, she and the lone server strike up conversation that is far more telling than either anticipated.

What are we able to tell strangers that we aren’t able to tell our loved ones?

THE RECITAL // Feature Film

'The Recital' is an emotional and introspective look into the world of someone suffering from heroin addiction.

Instead of typical storytelling, in which characters are either dynamic or static, in which the narrative and conflicts are clear, pronounced, concrete and defined, this story is one in which the true drama lies within the mind of those watching.

'THE RECITAL' // GALA event

With this event, our goal is to help fund our first feature film, 'The Recital'

In addition to paying our crew and actors a living wage, we hope to fund our post-production needs such as soundtrack, sound mixing, and editing.

However, this event goes beyond our need for funding –– this event is also intended to bring awareness to addiction and the much needed services that are currently lacking in our nation.

Get Involved

There will be a day—in our lifetime—when mental health // addiction impacts you or someone close to you and maybe it already has. This problem requires action…

We want to produce a beacon that, not only raises awareness, but creates a platform for tangible change. Honest film-making is that beacon and we have more than enough room for those wanting to join the fight ~

sAM cATON // MARCH 2017

"when the morning comes
I open my eyes.
that's the first thing I do.
and then I see.
that soft hearts are what heal
and that quiet minds are what bring
to life the garden green of everlasting clarity
and that there is beauty in struggle
as there is beauty in peace
because beauty has never died."
